At the end of last year, the general board approved the plan for LIFE Water Factory in Wilp (municipality of Voorst). The test setup on the Terwolde WWTP is an important first step. All technical components are “small” arranged in a special hall. These techniques have already proven themselves individually, but their combination is unique. The pilot is mainly about whether it works in sequence. And whether the room also matches the actual setup. In this way we can remove teething problems at an early stage and make the final design of the water plant with the results. The animation below shows how the water factory will work later.
Cooperation
The test at Terwolde is being carried out in close collaboration with Witteveen + Bos and Royal HaskoningDHV. Together with the Water Board, they form the Dutch Water Refinery (DWR) construction team. The pilot must produce a proof of concept in six months. In this project, Vallei en Veluwe cooperates with the municipality of Voorst, the Province of Gelderland and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management. Collaboration also takes place with the companies Attero and Schoneveld Breeding and the knowledge partners Aquaminerals, STOWA and Wageningen University & Research (WUR).
